Wedding dress styles vary widely and if you are having a themed wedding that can change everything. So before deciding on a particular dress you have to decide what it is you want to portray when you walk down the aisle. Traditional, Victorian, and many other styles can do this but you want to pick out something that is right for your body type so it is bother comfortable to you and makes you as beautiful as possible.

Certain dress types aren’t particularly flattering with certain body types and that’s not the only consideration. Tattoos, piercings, and scars should be covered as best as possible on your wedding day. This means that you should think about what will be exposed in your dress once you are wearing it and what can be done to cover up anything you don’t want to show. Tattoos and scars in most cases and can air brushed so that isn’t as much of a consideration for the dress but realize that this is going to add to the time needed to prepare for the wedding. So where does body type come into play with a wedding dress?

If you are pregnant or a little bit on the heavier side then it’s important to pay attention to how the dress fits. A form fitting dress may not be appropriate on this occasion not because you’re not beautiful but because it really doesn’t enhance the gorgeous qualities you do have. This is why when you try on a dress you should see how it fits to the curvature of your body and how it portrays you to the loved ones that will be attending your wedding. Now color should be a no brainer but it really depends on the type of wedding you are having.

White is traditional but if you are having a wedding with a particular theme then it might be a good idea to find a dress that portrays that theme. The most magnificent dress I have seen was an extended blue dress that mimicked Alice’s dress from Alice in Wonderland. While many planners may frown on a dress that differs from the traditional white consider the fact that it is your big day.

When choosing a dress always keep in mind that it is your wedding and what makes you feel beautiful is important too. It’s not just about all the other people that will attend but for you to have a moment to remember and cherish with your husband. These tips are just to help you to decide on a dress but always remember it is your day and to choose something that makes you happy.
